Terms of service

Last updated 28 October 2026

curling.cam is live-scoring and live-streaming software for curling clubs, operated by Gareth Jones ("we"). By using the website, the tablet scoring pages, the admin site, or the software we provide for a club's screens and streaming box, a club agrees to these terms.

The service

We provide the scoring pages, the public scores and TV pages, the admin site at admin.curling.cam, the software image for the small computers behind a club's TVs, and the software for an encoder box at the club that composites cameras, the scoreboard and sponsor logos into a live stream for each sheet. The service is provided to a club under the commercial arrangement agreed with it separately, which includes how many sheets the club may stream at once.

The software at the club

The screens' and the box's software is provided for the club's own devices and its own use. It connects only to curling.cam, takes the settings the club's admins choose, and updates itself to versions we release, putting itself back if a version does not come up. The club may stop using it at any time. We may withdraw a version that proves faulty, and we may ask a club to let a device update before we can help with a problem on it.

The club's responsibilities

The club is responsible for what it enters and uploads: scores, team names, logos, text and links, and for having the right to use any logo or image it uploads. The club is responsible for its own cameras, tablets, network, power and internet connection, for its own YouTube channel and Google account, and for the content of its streams, including complying with YouTube's terms of service and its rules on music and other copyrighted material.

Admin accounts are personal. The club chooses whom to invite, every admin can change everything about the club, and the club is responsible for what its admins do. Tablet links and the printed QR codes that carry them are credentials for scoring a sheet, and a screen's or box's claim code adds a device to the club; the club should keep them to the people who need them and ask us to replace a tablet link that has been shared too widely.

Google and YouTube

To stream, a club creates an application in its own Google account and connects its YouTube channel through the admin site. We hold the resulting authorisation encrypted and use it only to manage the live streams and broadcasts for the club's sheets, as described in our privacy policy. The club can disconnect a channel at any time on the admin site, or remove the application's access in its Google account. The club remains responsible for its application's standing with Google and its channel's eligibility to stream live.

Availability and warranty

We work to keep the service running during the club's draws, but it is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Live scores and live streams depend on the club's tablets, network, cameras, power and internet connection, and on YouTube, all of which are outside our control. We may change or withdraw a feature with notice where practical. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for any loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the service.

Ending the service

A club can stop using the service at any time and ask us to remove its data, after which its devices forget their identity and settings. We may suspend or end the service for a club that uses it in a way that harms the service or other clubs, or when the arrangement under which it is provided ends, with notice where practical.
